Now a perfect 5-0 since the winter break, Babic rolled past three No. 1 singles opponents this past week to secure her second consecutive NEC Player of the Week award. The sophomore Blackbird, who is a three-time weekly honoree since joining Long Island this past fall, was dominant in straight-set victories over top singles players from Dayton, Siena, and Adelphi as LIU added three team wins to its ledger. Before dropping UD’s Allysa Detroy, 6-1, 6-1, on Monday afternoon, Babic eased past Siena’s Sarah Mayer, 6-4, 6-2, on Sunday after dominating Adelphi’s Megan Margino, 6-0, 6-0, on Saturday.
