Gibilisco opened his first collegiate outdoor season by notching a victory in the 800-meter run at the VCU Ram Invitational. Not hard pressed by the rest of the field, the rookie runner broke the tape in 1:56.44. Gibilisco stakes claim to both the NEC Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week awards after finishing the race more than 2.5 seconds faster than the runner-up.
