The 2007 Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year was in control during the first start of his senior season. Brach tossed six masterful innings of one-run ball to position the defending NEC champion Hawks for a 4-3 season-opening victory over East Carolina. The senior righty scattered five hits, allowed only one base on balls, and struck out three before giving way to his younger brother Brett Brach with the game tied at 1-1 in the seventh. The Hawks eventually plated three in the ninth to secure the win.
