Howell becomes the second Mount freshman this season to capture the Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award. The former New Jersey high school standout averaged 17.0 points per game while etching her name into the NCAA record book during the process. Howell opened the week with a 23-point performance at Wagner that included a perfect 7-for-7 three-point shooting display to run her consecutively converted three-pointers streak to 11. The rookie guard’s shooting hand remained hot from long distance and yielded an NCAA record 14 straight three-point makes after Howell connected on her first three attempts against defending NEC champion Robert Morris later in the week. The sharpshooting freshman finished with 11 points and a career-high five boards. She leads the NEC in three-point shooting percentage, having hit on 44-of-85 attempts (.518).
