Boyd’s impressive 200-400 double earns the Long Island freshman his fourth NEC Rookie of the Week award this season, tying a conference record that was set by Wagner’s Erik Hjartnes who won the honor on four occasions during the 2005-06 NEC Indoor season. Boyd, who already owns an IC4A mark in the long jump, qualified for the IC4A Championships in both the 200-meter (21.97) and 400-meter (47.98) dashes this past weekend at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Competing in those two events for the first time at the collegiate level, Boyd finished third and fifth overall, respectively, and now owns the best 400-meter time in the NEC.
