Chappell’s’ red-hot shooting helped propel the Colonials to a pair of road wins last week and improve their season record to 5-2. The Cincinnati, OH native averaged 21.0 ppg, hitting a blistering 85.0 percent (17-20) from the field, including 66.7 percent (6-9) from three-point territory. He also added 2.5 spg. Chappell connected on 6-7 field goal attempts (3-4 3PFG) and added two rebounds, three assists, a block and three steals as Robert Morris rolled to an 88-61 win at Florida International on Thursday. On Sunday, he scored a game-high 25 points and came up with a pair of steals in a 72-66 victory at Fordham. Chappell sank 11-13 shots from the floor and was 3-5 from beyond the arc. With the Colonials nursing a two-point lead, he converted a fast-break layup with 22 seconds to play to help seal the win. Chappell leads the Colonials and is seventh in the conference with 16.9 ppg. He also ranks first in the NEC in steals (3.7 spg) and second in field goal percentage (.605).
