Bayer earns her second Rookie of the Week honor after posting 184 assists, 25 digs and seven service aces at the Brown Invitational. The Allen, TX native began the week with 56 assists and eight digs in a hard-fought 3-2 over Portland. She then recorded a career-high 66 assists in the team’s second match, a 3-2 win over tournament host Brown. Bayer closed the tournament with her second straight 60-plus assist game, tallying 62 assists in a close 3-2 loss to Stony Brook. Her 60-assist matches were CCSU’s first since two-time Northeast Conference Setter of the Year Brynn Good posted 66 assists against NEC rival Robert Morris on November 6, 2005.
