Girling was perfect during the first intercollegiate competition of his career, winning both the fourth flight singles and doubles titles at Brown’s Northeast Intercollegiates. Girling beat players from Colgate, Boston College, Bucknell and Rhode Island en-route to a 4-0 singles record. He also teamed up with sophomore Alexander Nace to post a 3-0 record on the way to the No. 4 doubles crown.
