Scribner’s league-leading third Akadema/NEC Pitcher of the Week award of the season comes after a remarkable weekend that saw the senior record a win and two saves in CCSU’s sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson. In Friday's 5-3 victory over the Knights, Scribner entered the game in the ninth inning and posted his third save of the year after allowing one hit and striking out one. He repeated his effort in a 9-8 win on Saturday, shutting the door on FDU in the seventh by fanning a pair of batters in a hitless inning to pick up his fourth save. The following afternoon Scribner tossed a complete-game four-hitter, yielding two earned runs while fanning 11 for his fourth victory of the season. On the weekend, he registered a 1.64 ERA and struck out 14 batters in 11 innings. Scribner, who hails from Washington Depot, CT, lowered his ERA to 3.32 (eighth in the NEC) on the season and boosted his strikeout total to 64, the second-best mark in the conference.
