In an 11-8 win against Monmouth, Preas held the league’s top scorer and the nation’s fourth-highest scorer, Katie Degen, to three shots. It ended Degen’s 29-game consecutive game point streak, the 13th longest in Division I. It also marked the first time Degen had not recorded a point in an NEC regular season game (28 matches) and only the second time she was held scoreless in 34 games against a league opponent. Preas then took on the task of guarding Long Island’s Amy Rizzo, the NEC’s second-leading scorer and 24th in the country and shutout Rizzo in every statistical category in the Mount’s 10-9 victory against Long Island, ending Rizzo’s 24-consecutive game scoring streak and 14-consecutive league games with a point. Preas registered two shots, one ground ball, four draw controls and a caused turnover.
