With a remarkable display of power and clutch hitting, Murray catapulted the Mount to a split in its series with Monmouth last week. In four games, he hit .375 and slugged .938 with three homers, four runs and eight RBI. His walk-off three-run bomb with two outs in the bottom of the ninth lifted Mount St. Mary’s to a 9-8 come-from-behind victory in the final game of the series on Saturday. One day earlier, he forced extra innings with a game-tying solo shot in the bottom of the seventh in the Mount’s 7-5 loss in the first game of a doubleheader, then came back to go 2-3 with a homer and three RBI in a 10-3 win in the nightcap. Entering this season, Murray was 14-85 (.165) at the plate with one home run and nine RBI for his career. In 2007, he is hitting a robust .390 with a league-leading eight round trippers and .695 slugging percentage to go along with 22 RBI and 22 runs scored.
