Gillespie hit .643 for the week, highlighted by a five-for-eight performance in a conference doubleheader sweep of Wagner on Saturday. The senior totaled seven runs, two doubles, two home runs, two stolen bases and a pair of RBI’s over her four games this week and is now batting and NEC-best .455 for the season. In the second game of the doubleheader with the Seahawks, the three-time NEC Player of the Week went four-for-five and narrowly missed hitting for the cycle as the California native tallied a single, double and home run over the first four innings then hit a gapper to right center field for her second double of the day. Gillespie leads the conference in on-base percentage (.530) and hits (46) and is also tied for first in homeruns (4) and is second in slugging percentage (.673).
