Buch joins classmate Brett Brach as Akadema/NEC Rookie of the Week award winners after picking up his first collegiate victory and registering a 1.23 ERA in two appearances last week. In his first game of the season, he went 2.1 innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out four in the Hawks’ 15-7 victory over St. Bonaventure last Monday. Five days later the Yardley, PA product made his first start, throwing 5.0 innings of four-hit ball in a 2-1 loss at Navy. Buch, who did not figure in the decision, allowed just one unearned run and struck out eight.
