Monti, the 2005 NEC Pitcher of the Year, tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout on Saturday as Sacred Heart downed five-time defending Big East champion Notre Dame, 3-0. He struck out four and did not issue a walk. Monti was perfect other than allowing a first-inning double to Jeremy Barnes and a seventh inning single to Mike Dury. The senior from Marlboro, NY has now pitched 19 innings this spring without permitting an earned run.
