After missing the entire 2005-06 season with an injury, Henley has returned to full strength for the surging Pioneers, who went 3-0 last week, including a pair of victories over conference rivals to open NEC play. Henley shot a scintillating 76.9 percent from the field in the three outings, hitting 20-26 shots en-route to averaging 18.7 points per game. He also contributed 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 block and 1.3 steals per contest despite averaging just over 21 minutes per game coming off the bench. Henley, who was named to the all-NEC second team in 2004-05, commenced his week with 14 points and five boards in a 90-80 conquest of Yale at the Pitt Center on Monday. Three days later, he sank 7-9 field goal attempts and finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists as Sacred Heart knocked off visiting Robert Morris, 90-74. Henley, who hails from Kent, WA, saved his best for last with 24 points on 9-10 from the floor and 6-7 from the line, to go along with four rebounds and two steals in the Pioneers’ 103-91 victory over Saint Francis (PA) on Saturday. A tight end who caught 29 passes for Sacred Heart this past football season, Henley ranks second on the team with 12.6 ppg. He is also third in the NEC in blocks (1.7 bpg) and fourth in field goal percentage (.560)
