Sweetney’s quick adjustment to the collegiate game is one of the key factors in Saint Francis (PA)’s 2-1 start. Last week, he averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in the Red Flash’s 1-1 week. In a 76-54 win over St. Bonaventure on Monday, he posted his first career double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals as Saint Francis earned its first win over an Atlantic 10 team since 1994. The Washington, D.C. native was saddled with early foul trouble in a 69-60 setback to La Salle on Saturday, but still managed nine points, four boards, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes of work. On the year, Sweetney leads all NEC freshman with 14.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.3 spg and an 84.6 percent success rate from the line.
