Boland had the most efficient game of his career in a 19-0 win over Albany on Saturday, throwing for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 17-of-18 passing. Boland’s only missed pass attempt came in the second quarter after being pressured. The Hawks won their fifth NEC Championship and first outright. Boland also guided Monmouth to shared titles in 2003 and 2004. Boland’s passing efficiency rating was an amazing 230.51 in the game. The fifth-year senior hit six different wide receivers against the Great Danes and had three receivers with four grabs each. Boland was 5-for-5 passing in the second half and also 5-for-5 on third-downs, picking up four first downs on those connections. The Brick, NJ native opened up the second half with a 63-yard scoring strike to Adam San Miguel on the first play from scrimmage. Boland was also second on the team in rushing with 12 carries for 32 yards. Boland was not sacked in the game. Currently, Boland leads the NEC in total offense (223.4 ypg) and has 14 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. He will graduate as the NEC’s second all-time leading passer and now has 7,653 career yards with at least one game remaining in his all-star career. Boland has won three of the last four NEC Offensive Player of the Week awards.
