Boland accounted for 299 of Monmouth’s 460 offensive yards in a 19-13 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday. The senior was 16-of-31 passing for 227 yards and one interception. The Brick, NJ product, who wins back-to-back NEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, was also Monmouth’s second leading rusher with 72 yards on 12 carries, with a long of 21 yards. With the Hawks up 12-7 in the fourth quarter, Boland took a designed quarterback-draw for 16 yards to the endzone, putting Monmouth up by 12 points. The score was Boland’s third rushing touchdown of the season. Boland now has 7,203 career yards passing and is just the third quarterback in the NEC history to surpass 7,000 career yards. Against CCSU, he hit six different receivers and was 7-of-15 on third down.
