Caneen has come on strong late in her freshman year and helped spark the Blue Devils’ late season charge. Last week, she scored two goals and added an assist as CCSU played to a 2-2 draw with Sacred Heart on Friday and defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-2, on Sunday. Caneen assisted on Kari Mancini’s goal just three seconds prior to halftime to knot the score at 1-1 against Sacred Heart. Two days later, she tallied the first two goals in the win over the Knights. Late in the first half, she scooped up a rebound off a Jessica McCavanagh shot and buried the ball into the right side of the net to even the match at one apiece. With the score still tied at 1-1 in the 82nd minute, McCavanagh sent a cross that was touched by Karise Hilt and scooped up by Caneen, who converted into the left side of the net. The Stafford Springs, CT native now has recorded her season totals of three goals and seven points all in her last four matches, with the Blue Devils posting a 3-0-1 mark in that span.
