Malijani claims his second straight Brine/NEC Rookie of the Week honor after registering a hat trick in the Knights’ 3-0 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday. He scored the game-winning goal - his third in as many games - in the 13th minute when he put in a rebound off a shot from Alejandro Bedoya. In the 38th minute, Fabio Trezza sent a cross into the box that Malijani flicked in off a header for his second goal of the match. He completed the hat trick in the 60th minute, when he took a Bedoya feed at the top of the box and shot it into the lower left corner of the net. Malijani, who hails from Lusaka, Zambia, has scored five times in his last three matches and now leads the team and ranks second in the NEC with six goals and 15 points. His four game-winners are tied for best on the circuit.
