Lopez is the recipient of her fourth Brine/NEC Rookie of the Week honor this fall after registering a goal and three assists as Monmouth won its first two league games of the season to stretch its unbeaten streak to five (4-0-1). In a 4-0 shutout of Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, the NEC’s leading point producer scored the first goal just 3:46 into the match off a feed from classmate BrieAnne Nomejko. Lopez then assisted on her team’s next two goals as the Hawks built a 3-0 lead in the 63rd minute of play. Two days later, the native of Oakhurst, NJ was credited with an assist when she found Illiana Blackshear in the box for an insurance goal in the 74th minute of a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart. Lopez leads the NEC with nine assists - she ranks sixth nationally in the category - and 17 points. Her nine assists are the most by a Monmouth player in a season since Jaime Kuhne totaled nine in 1998.
