Lopez claims her third Brine/NEC Rookie of the Week award of the 2006 season after tallying one goal and two assists in the Hawks’ 2-0-1 week. She assisted on Amy Hoyer’s game-winning goal in Monmouth’s 1-0 triumph over Lafayette on Wednesday, then added a goal and an assist as the Hawks improved to 5-2-1 this season with a 2-1 win over Temple on Sunday. In the win over the Owls, Lopez lifted a shot from 30 yards out into the far netting to give Monmouth a two-goal edge in the 28th minute. The Oakhurst, NJ product upped her league leading point and assist totals to 12 and six, respectively. She has registered at least one point in five of her eight matches this season.
