Barksdale picked off two passes, including one near the goal line with 29.1 seconds remaining, to lead Albany past No. 11 Delaware. The academic senior, who started 38 of 47 games as a member of the Great Dane baseball team, decided to walk-on the first day of preseason football camp. The defensive back added one tackle and returned three punts for 20 yards. Barksdale’s first interception led to Jason Fralicker's 20-yard field goal with 1:22 left in the second quarter and a 17-3 lead. His next pick sealed the biggest win in the program's history when he intercepted Joe Flacco's pass on a third-and-four play at the Albany 19 yardline. The Hudson, NY product was an all-state defensive back at the high school level. He batted .277 with 22 stolen bases last spring for the Great Danes.
