Stimmel led a Central Connecticut State defense that held Georgia Southern scoreless in the second half, leading the Blue Devils with 12 total tackles including one for a loss. The junior also added a key interception in the first quarter of the win. Stimmel and the Blue Devils forced three Eagle turnovers in the game. The 6-2 linebacker had nine solo tackles and his interception was the first of the season for CCSU. In the second half, the Blue Devils did not allow GSU to score, and on six possessions, forced four punts, a fumble and a turnover on downs. In the second half GSU had only one drive of longer than 14 yards and only one drive of more than six plays. The Blue Devils trailed for only 2:13 in the victory over the ranked Eagles. Stimmel ranks sixth in the NEC with 9.0 tackles per game.
