Donovan is the second straight combined winner of the Brine/NEC Player & Rookie of the Week awards after playing a role in all four goals of the Bobcats’ 4-0 triumph over Howard on Sunday. She scored twice and assisted on two others as Quinnipiac boosted its record to 3-1 with a pair of victories last week. The Cork, Ireland native started the ball rolling in the 28th minute, setting up Kate Lissfelt one-on-one with the goalie to give the Bobcats a 1-0 edge. Donovan then scored the first two goals of her career, converting in the 35th and 73rd minute. With under eight minutes remaining, she found Mallory Curran alone at the top of the box for an insurance marker. Despite competing in just two of the Bobcats’ four matches, Donovan leads the team with two goals, two assists and six points. Prior to her arrival at Quinnipiac, the freshman forward played for the Ireland U-19 National Team from age 15, seeing action for three years in the European Championships.
