Miranda was a key element to the Bobcats defensive play last weekend, helping Quinnipiac open the NEC schedule with a 2-0 conference mark with wins over Robert Morris (16-9) and St. Francis (PA) (16-1). For the week, she tallied one goal, one assist, three caused turnovers, nine ground balls and four draw controls. Against the Colonials, the senior defender was assigned to cover Ashley Levering, who ranks among the top five in the NEC goal leaders, and held her below her goals per game average, allowing Levering just two scores and two shots on goal. In the win over the Red Flash, she held SFPA’s top scorer Rachel Farrow scoreless and did not even allow her to get a shot off. She also tallied her first points of the year in the win over St. Francis (PA) with a goal and an assist for two points on the day, to go along with five ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control. In a 13-11 setback to Ivy foe Columbia earlier in the week, Miranda contributed two ground balls and two draw controls.
