Mainetti batted .500 with nine hits, six runs scored, nine runs batted in, four doubles and one home run in a 4-1 week for the Bobcats. Defensively, he was also perfect at first base with 47 putouts and four assists, without an error. The junior from Guilford, CT started the week going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Quinnipiac’s home opening 8-5 win over New York Tech. In a 4-3 victory over UConn, Mainetti scored the game-winning run after being walked twice on the day. In a three-game series versus conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson, he went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk in the first-game (7-5 loss) on Saturday and then in the nightcap (10-1 win) was 1-for-4 with another double, an RBI and a run scored. His best game of the week came when he closed out the rubber game batting .833 (5-for-6) with seven runs batted in, four runs scored, a home run and a double. The seven RBI in a game are the most by a QU player since the school went Division I and the five hits matched a school game-high. On the year, Mainetti is hitting .262 with 18 total bases, 10 RBI and seven runs scored.
