Roberts made his collegiate debut against La Salle with the bases loaded and no outs in the fifth inning and retired all three batters he faced. He went on to pitch five scoreless innings to earn the 13-5 win in relief. During the five inning span, the freshman lefty faced only 17 batters, and allowed just one hit and one walk, while striking out six. With Roberts on the mound, not a single La Salle player made it past first base and the only hit he gave up came during the ninth inning. The local New Britain product is currently 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and has his opponents batting a mere .067 against him.
