Coleman’s second Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award of the season comes on the heels of two road victories for second place Monmouth, which improved to 5-1 in league play this season. Coleman averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and hit 7-11 shots (.636) from the floor, including a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc. He first logged five points, three rebounds and a team-high five assists in the Hawks’ 61-57 victory over Central Connecticut State on Thursday, then followed up with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists in an 85-82 overtime win at Quinnipiac on Saturday. He converted all three of his three-point attempts against the Bobcats, and was 5-7 overall from the field. Coleman, a native of Salem, CT, is averaging 8.5 ppg this season and also ranks sixth in the NEC in field goal percentage at 54.4 percent and is sinking 53.3 percent of his shots from three-point territory (16-30).
