With Frye providing the impetus, the Pioneers posted a 3-0 record last week to move to within one game of the .500 mark. Frye, a 6-3 guard, scored 20 points or more in all three contests and nearly averaged a double-double with 21.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He also shot 48.8 percent from the field and made 24 free throws in three outings to take home his first-ever Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week honor. In a 76-62 win over Army on Monday, Frye scored 22 points and pulled down five boards as Sacred Heart snapped a four-game losing skid. He went on to tally his first double-double of the year with a career-high tying 23 points, along with a career-best 15 rebounds and four steals in a 66-55 triumph over Lehigh two days later. The Queens native put the finishing touches on his week on Saturday, amassing 20 points and eight caroms as the Pioneers went on the road to defeat St. Francis (PA) in their NEC opener, 74-72. With the score deadlocked at 72-72, Frye clinched the victory when he dribbled the length of the court and converted a layup with just five seconds left on the clock. On the season, Frye ranks third in the league in scoring (16.6 ppg), fifth in rebounding (8.0 rpg), 14th in assists (3.0 apg) and 11th in blocks (0.8 bpg).
