Bocanegra accounted for a career-high 206 total yards and passed for two touchdowns in Albany’s, 41-0 win over Patriot League foe Fordham on Saturday to earn both NEC Offensive Player and NEC Rookie of the Week accolades. The redshirt freshman completed 12-of-18 passes for 157 yards, rushed 12 times for 49 yards, returned one punt for 10 yards, while throwing a six-yard scoring pass in the third quarter and a 13-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Rams. Bocanegra, who attended the same high school as two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, set up the Great Danes’ first touchdown of the game with a 44-yard flea-flicker to freshman flanker Josh Furnas.
