With the graduation of starting guards Tamien Trent and Mensah Peterson, FDU head coach Tom Green sought to fortify his backcourt in the offseason and may have found a keeper in Tyler, who showed no signs of jitters competing against #24 Maryland on Friday. Tyler came off the bench to score 17 points on 7-13 shooting from the floor, to go along with three rebounds and a game-high six assists in 36 minutes of work. A Jamaica, NY product, Tyler is averaging 10.0 ppg, 3.7 apg and in three games has already gone to the line 17 times, converting 13.
