Corto, a junior linebacker, set a career-high with 13 tackles (5 solo) in a win at Robert Morris on Saturday. The Orchard Park, NY native, who earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors in mid-September, also registered a sack and forced a fumble. Corto’s quarterback sack gave him a career-best 7.5 for the season, which ranks second among all NEC defenders this year. The junior’s forced fumble came late in the third quarter with the Colonials at the Sacred Heart 16-yard line. After the turnover, the Pioneers drove 83 yards on 14 plays, chewing up over six minutes of the clock and ending with a Nick Passalacqua 22-yard field goal.
