Pricolo, a senior tailback with nearly 3,000 career rushing yards, ran for an NEC season-high 232 yards on just 21 carries with a school-record five touchdowns, including runs of 50, 15, 27, 15 and 47 yards, in SHU’s, 53-45 win over St. Francis (PA) on Saturday. Pricolo’s five touchdowns and 30 points scored equals conference records set by Central Connecticut State’s Cory Harge last season. Pricolo’s 232 yards ranks sixth all-time in the NEC for a single game and is six yards shy of his own school record of 238 yards set last year. His 47-yard touchdown with 2:41 remaining in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for the Red Flash, which had traded scores with the Pioneers all afternoon. The score came on the first play after the Red Flash had closed its deficit to two points and tried an unsuccessful onside kick. Pricolo, who leads the NEC with 1,019 yards this season, needs 96 more yards to move into third all-time in the NEC for a career and pass Albany’s Gary Jones (3,033). The league leader with 13 touchdowns earns his second career NEC Offensive Player of the Week award and first of 2005.
