Ferrell becomes the third Fairleigh Dickinson player honored as Brine/NEC Player of the Week this season after serving as the catalyst in the Knights’ 2-0-1 week. Ferrell scored four goals in the three matches, included a pair in FDU’s 3-0 shutout of Quinnipiac on Monday. She opened the scoring 13 minutes into the second half after beating a Bobcat defender in the box, then took a long pass from Jennifer Tarvin and found the back of the net with less than four minutes to play in the contest. In a 1-1 tie with host St. Francis (PA) on Friday, Ferrell blasted a right-footed bender from 18 yards out into the right corner of the net to give the visiting Knights a 1-0 edge in the 23rd minute. The Rahway, NJ native concluded her week by converting a 25-yard direct kick near the end of the first half in a 4-0 triumph at Robert Morris on Sunday. Ferrell has now assumed the team lead in goals (six) and points (12). She is tied for third in the NEC in goals and is tied for ninth in scoring.
