Chan became the first Quinnipiac player to reach the semifinals in any flight at the annual UConn Invitational held over the weekend. Competing in the "A" flight, Chan rallied to defeat Marist’s Ray Josephs, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6, in the first round, then ousted Monmouth’s Vik Gupta, 6-3, 6-2, in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, the Great Neck, NY native outlasted Lehigh’s Randall Smalley, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8, before falling in the semifinals to Marist’s Leo Rodriguez, 3-6, 4-6. Chan also teamed with Goldy Sherrill to advance to the second round in "A" doubles flight play.
