Chan, who was honored earlier in the spring as the Prince/NEC Player of the Month for February, built some momentum entering NEC Tournament play this weekend with a pair of #2 flight singles victories last week. In a 6-1 setback to Hofstra, Chan picked up the Bobcats’ lone point with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 win over the Pride’s Luka Djordjevic, one of the top freshman in the Colonial Athletic Association. He went on to defeat Sacred Heart’s Peter George, 6-2, 7-5, to wrap up the regular season with a 17-6 singles mark. Chan, who hails from Great Neck, NY, also teamed with Mike Racioppo for an 8-5 victory at #1 doubles in the 7-0 win over the Pioneers. Chan and the top-seeded Bobcats will be shooting for their second straight league crown when NEC Tournament play commences on Friday.
