Cummings had a hand in two of Monmouth’s seven victories last week, registering his second win of the season and first save of his career against conference rivals Wagner and St. Francis (NY), respectively. On the week, the Toms River, NJ native yielded a lone earned run in 10.0 innings of work, struck out five and did not issue a free pass. In the Hawks’ 11-3 win over Wagner on Wednesday, Cummings allowed one earned run, scattered eight hits and struck out three batters over seven innings in the first complete game performance of his career. Three days later, he picked up a save by holding St. Francis (NY) scoreless over the final three innings as Monmouth pulled away late for an 11-4 victory. Cummings permitted just one hit and fanned two in the appearance.
