McPherson opened up her season by posting two ECAC qualifying marks at the 49ers Classic in Charlotte, NC. In the preliminaries, McPherson ran 55.75 in the 400 meter and 24.81 in the 200 meter, qualifying her for both Saturday's finals and the upcoming ECAC Championships in May. In the finals, McPherson ran the 200 in 24.99 and the 400 in a time of 56.58. The 2004 NEC champion in both events already bested the time she ran at last year’s conference championship in the 200m (25.62) and was only .04 second off her time in the 400m (55.71) in only her first meet of the outdoor season. McPherson was also part of the Knights’ 4x100 relay team which posted a time of 48.58, just two-tenths off the ECAC qualifying time.
