Higgins started five games and hit .500 (8-16) with a double, triple, three runs scored and five RBI as Monmouth took seventh place at the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic in Fresno, CA last week. Higgins, who also slugged .688 and compiled an on-base percentage of .550 in the five outings, recorded a pair of 3-3 games at the plate in a 10-4 win over Penn and a 13-4 setback to Gonzaga. He also drove in a pair of runs in the Hawks’ 5-3 triumph over San Francisco. The Green Brook, NJ native is now hitting .429 on the season.
