Chan opened up his spring season with a 3-1 singles mark as the Bobcats are off to a 2-2 start against a host of challenging programs. Normally a #2 flight competitor, Chan filled in at #1 singles slot and rallied for a 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-5 win over Aohen Solom of Bucknell in a match won by Quinnipiac, 4-3. Back at #2, he knocked off Colgate’s Scott Coope, 7-6 (5), 6-3, for the Bobcats’ lone victory of the afternoon in a 6-1 defeat. In Quinnipiac’s 7-0 blanking of Holy Cross, Chan registered a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Nick Casalaro. His lone setback came in a three-set affair vs. Stony Brook’s Tal Meir. Chan was named a first team all-NEC performer at #3 singles as a freshman in 2004, and helped lead Quinnipiac to its first-ever conference championship.
