Swink earns her 11th career Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week award and third this season after averaging 25.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 55 percent (21-38) from the field in two wins last week to keep the Red Flash in a tie with Sacred Heart for first place in the NEC. St. Francis (PA) topped Mount St. Mary’s, 91-85, on Wednesday, with the senior dropping in a game-high 32 points, including 17 in the second half, on 14-of-23 from the field and five rebounds. Three days later, the Connellsville, PA product tallied a team-high 19 points, five boards and two steals, while shooting 7-of-15 from the field in a 76-65 win over Quinnipiac. The senior netted 11 of her 19 points in the first half, which help push the Flash to a 16-point halftime advantage. On the season, Swink ranks in the top three in the NCAA and leads the league in scoring (22.5 ppg), ranks sixth in the NEC in rebounding (7.6 rpg), second in field-goal percentage (.500), sixth in the free-throw percentage (.741), tied for 12th in steals per game (1.85 spg) and ninth in blocks per game (0.75 bpg). Swink has now scored 1,890 points in her all-star career, placing her in fourth-place all-time in conference history. She now needs 27 points to move into third (Amanda Rosato, Monmouth) and 40 points to move into second (Karen Erving, St. Francis {NY}).
