Porter, who averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.5 steals and was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line in two Wagner victories, claims his third Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award, tying him for the league lead with St. Francis (NY)’s Allan Sheppard. Porter netted a career-high 19 points and matched a career-best with six assists, to go along with four rebounds and two steals as the Seahawks earned their most lopsided win of the year, an 87-57 conquest of Quinnipiac at the Spiro Center on Monday. He drained both his three-point attempts and was 9-9 from the charity stripe. Four nights later, he tallied 13 points, four rebounds and six assists as the surging Seahawks downed visiting Mount St. Mary’s, 72-55, for their third straight win. Porter, an Atlantic City native, currently leads all NEC freshman in scoring (10.6 ppg) and is third in assists (3.2 apg). A consistent force for the Seahawks on both ends of the floor this season, he has reached double digits in scoring in 11 of his last 16 games.
