Trent becomes the third Fairleigh Dickinson player honored as Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week this season after averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 61.9 percent from the floor as the Knights moved to within a half game of first place Monmouth with a pair of wins last week. In an 85-65 triumph at Long Island on Monday, Trent posted the first double-double of his career with 20 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and two steals. He hit 7-10 shots from the field and was 6-8 from the line. On Saturday, Trent helped lead FDU to its sixth win in seven outings with 15 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals as the Knights rolled to a 78-54 victory over visiting St. Francis (NY). The native of Moriches, NY is currently third in the NEC in assists (5.8 apg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.80), and also ranks tenth in scoring (14.6 ppg). Trent, along with fellow award winners Gordon Klaiber and Chad Timberlake, have enabled FDU to become the first NEC team to sport three different Player of the Week award winners in the same season since CCSU turned the trick in 2001-02.
