Krumberga, who is a sophomore academically, averaged 22.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists and posted her first and second career double-double in two games for Mount St. Mary’s last week. The 6-0 guard scored a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-58 loss to Quinnipiac on Thursday before collecting 20 points and 10 boards in a 60-57 win against FDU on Saturday. Krumberga also made 15-of-19 free throws and 5-of-14 three-pointers combined for the week. Against the Bobcats, the Riga, Lativa native hit 13-of-14 from the charity stripe, the most made by a Mountaineer since Megan Gardiner drained 14 against Wagner in 1999. Krumberga’s three-point basket with 57 seconds remaining in regulation gave Mount St. Mary’s the lead for good in the three-point win. Krumberga is just one of two freshmen in the NEC leading her team in scoring (12.5 ppg) (Tiffany Hill, St. Francis {NY}) and also stands 10th in the league in rebounding (6.7 rpg) and second in free-throw shooting (.855).
