It was Porter’s heroics in the waning seconds that lifted Wagner to its first win of the season on Saturday, a 66-65 conquest of Albany at the Spiro Sports Center. After the Great Danes missed the front end of a one-and-one with eight seconds remaining, Porter took an outlet pass from Sean Munson at the free throw line and exploded down court, before weaving through a bevy of Albany defenders for a driving layup with one tick left on the clock. The Atlantic City, NJ native helped Wagner rally from a 13-point second half deficit and finished the game with eight points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal in his first collegiate start. For the week, Porter averaged 6.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and shot 50.0 percent from the floor.
