A preseason all-NEC selection, Thompson began his junior year with an outstanding performance at the Columbia Classic over the weekend. Thompson earned all-tournament honors after averaging 27.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in the two games. In a 78-55 win over Longwood in the consolation game, he scored 34 points on 11-15 shooting from the floor, tied a career-best with nine boards and added three assists and four steals. The 34-point effort was just one point off his career-high and was the fifth 30+ point performance of his career. One day earlier, Thompson tallied a game-high 20 points in a 66-65 overtime loss to Morehead State. In that contest, he also contributed five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. The Germantown, MD native is the fifth-leading active scorer in the conference and needs just 13 points to become the 37th player in Mount history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
