With the Hawks trailing 24-15 to St. Francis (PA) in the second quarter and needing a spark in an all-important final game of the season, McClelland blocked a Carl Parrish punt, which was eventually recovered by Monmouth at the St. Francis’ 15-yard line. One play later, Hawk quarterback Brian Boland connected with wide out Miles Austin on a 15-yard touchdown pass to trim the Red Flash lead to 24-22. Also in the game, McClelland caught one pass for 16 yards in MU’s first scoring drive of the afternoon and returned a punt for 11 yards.
