One of the most prolific goal scorers in the conference, Showers was at the top of his game last week as St. Francis (PA) clinched its first-ever NEC Tournament berth on Friday with a 2-1 win over Sacred Heart, then secured the #2 seed in the tourney with a 3-0 shutout of league champion Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. Showers registered three goals in the two matches, including a pair of tallies in the first half of the Red Flash’s conquest of Sacred Heart. Against Fairleigh Dickinson, he utilized a header off a cross from Jonathan Fridal to give St. Francis (PA) a 2-0 edge heading into intermission. Showers, who was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his effort in the two victories, ranks second in the NEC in goals (11) and points (24).
