Cant was an offensive force for Mount St. Mary’s, which suffered a pair of setbacks to NEC playoff contenders St. Francis (PA) and Robert Morris last week. Cant tallied three goals in the two outings, including a pair in a 4-2 loss to the Colonials on Sunday. In that contest, the Sutton, England native staked the Mount to a 1-0 lead, then pulled his team to within 3-2 when he blasted an 18-yarder in the 57th minute despite the Mountaineers playing a man down. Two days earlier, Cant scored the game-tying goal against the Red Flash, converting a header off a corner kick in the 51st minute to make it 2-2. He leads the Mount with six goals (third in NEC) and 12 points (seventh in NEC). His six goals represent half of the team’s 12 tallies on the season.
